2022 Nigeria-Bangladesh Trade and Investment Mission

1. NBBTF appreciates the amazing accomplishments of Bangladesh and wishes to harness the win-win investment OPPORTUNITIES with reciprocal perspective.

2. The mission will be  comprised of delegates who are top policymakers and heads of government and private sector organizations that are promoting current economic diversification drive of the Nigerian government

3. The mission has the endorsement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs; His excellency Geoffrey Onyeama, and the buy in of the Honourable Minister of State, Budget and National Planning. The mission is also seeking approval from the minister of  Communication and Digital Economy, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment (who incidentally co launched NBBTF with the Bangladesh Minister of Trade in 2020 –see attached publication: (Bangladesh, Nigeria want to explore trade and investment potential (unb.com.bd).

4. The Managing Director/CEO of the National Inland Waterways Authority, Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission, Nigeria Export Promotion Council and a high representative of the Minister of Trade and Investment, other sectoral MDAs and some State governments

5. The mission also expects the presence of the Nigeria Association of Chambers of Commerce (NACCIMA), Abuja Chamber of Commerce, Ajaokuta Chamber of Commerce, Umuahia Chamber of Commerce, Arewa Cotton and Allied Products Limited, Nigeria Association of Textile Manufacturers amongst other local chambers of commerce and private companies.

6. A key highlight of the mission is institutional delegates’ visits to sister Organizations for experience sharing and technical cooperation agreements, personnel exchanges, etc. on capacity building

OBJECTIVES

Objectives of the first Nigeria Bangladesh Trade and Investment Mission, 2022:

Opportunity to market Nigeria’s NDP (2020-2025) and its Concentric Economic Diversification Initiative as an implementation strategy.

Collaboration for international/bilateral technical cooperation between governments and businesses amongst others

Development of venture and business partnership between Nigeria and Bangladesh in the areas of pharmaceuticals, health, Jute and Jute products, Garments and finished clothing, engineering for Ship and watercraft building, repair and maintenance, dredging, river training activities, maritime safety, emerging Blue economy (national water transportation, navigation, cargo movement, and connectivity systems) and digital economies particularly the Digital and other Skills Park, Pharmaceutical/Health, Agric/agro-allied technology, storage sectors, etc.
